midPhase
Dan and I started midPhase in 2003 and sold it to UK2 Group in 2007. It was our first real hosting company, built with credit cards, affiliate marketing, and a lot of figuring things out as we went.

the short version
- Launched from a spare bedroom and made four sales on the first day.
- Bought AN Hosting and started operating multiple hosting brands.
- Began building the dedicated-server automation that became SingleHop.
- Sold midPhase to UK2 Group and split SingleHop into its own company.
what survives
The useful part of the midPhase story is how small it started. Two young founders, homemade desks, support calls, and a market where distribution mattered as much as the servers.
